New House, New Town, New Blog!

Hey everyone! Kira here.

Our family is starting a new life in a new town, so what better way to celebrate and document the process than to start a new blog?!

Just two short weeks ago, we closed on our very first home. It's been a long 2 year journey of house hunting to get here and we feel so refreshed to feel like we are are finally "home". Now we get to enjoy our family in our very own place!

Our plan for this new blog is to simply chronicle our journey of home ownership, family life and anything else that happens along the way. We'll call it a journal of sorts.

Along the top of the page, you will see a "Home Tour" tab that will be updated as we make improvements. Right now, there are few pictures of the way that the house looked when we first toured it on January 1, 2014 and a few of the way things look right now. We have so many ideas eating away at our brains that we have to remind each other everyday that we can pace ourselves. It would be so easy to just blow every penny we have and do everything all at once! It's so hard to focus on unpacking boxes when you want to dive into the fun stuff.

A little bit of info about our family:

I'm Kira, a full time working wife and mother. And by full time, I mean that I have a full time day job in addition to being a wife and mother. I can't lie, I have definitely got a lot on my plate. I enjoy sewing, DIY projects around the house and, above all else, spending time with my family.

My husband, Justin, and I have four children. Yep, count 'em, FOUR! I know, we must be totally crazy, we've heard it all, but we love them all to pieces and couldn't imagine life any other way. Add in the dog, Sadie, and we've got a crazy family of seven.

We have our two bookend boys and two girls.

Oaken, our oldest son, is 6. He adores Legos, playing outside on nice days, and annoying his sisters. He is actually a wonderful big brother. In addition to pretending to blow up his Lego cities and cause mass destruction, he has a sensitive side, and can be found trying to soothe and talk to his baby brother. If you spend just an hour with Oaken, he will be your loyal best friend and give you hugs every chance he can.

Skylar is our oldest daughter. Skylar is 5 and absolutely tough as nails. This child has no fear and the scars, bumps, and bruises to prove it. She just started Kindergarten this year and is absolutely loving school. Again, another well rounded child that can raise hell outside on her bike, race down hills, or be found playing "house" and My Little Pony with her younger sis.

Clara is 3 and possibly the sweetest child you will ever meet. She is quiet, reserved, a little on the shy side, but sooo well behaved. Clara was an easy baby and, thank goodness, has been a relatively easy toddler too. She is our girly girl who loves dress up and likes pretty things. She adores her siblings and tries to keep up the best she can, but enjoys her alone time too.

Baby Cullen is our newest addition. He is four months old already. We didn't plan for this little guy, and in fact had given away all of our baby stuff before we found out that we would have another little person joining our family. I can't say that I wasn't excited to do some serious shopping before his arrival. I have been enjoying every last little baby snuggle I can get. He's always a smiley little guy. Cullen loves to laugh at his siblings and always manages to cheer everyone up.

We certainly hope that our friends and family will pop on the blog anytime. Anyone else who happens to stumble upon this little blog, we welcome you, too!

We hope that you enjoy what we are able to share here on Seven Town Way!
